Aleks at RemotiveLabs

Aleks started RemotiveLabs after working as a system architect at Volvo Cars. In the founder interview he describes himself as "a software guy" who loves iterating. The industry's setup, however, left little room to build and test code against a real vehicle. His first breakthrough came when he connected a development car in a garage to a computer and could get feedback on new code right away.

That idea of quick feedback, without waiting for hardware, now runs through the RemotiveLabs platform. Under his technical lead, the team built a broad set of tools and the flagship solution RemotiveTopology, which virtualize ECUs, networks and the full E/E architecture so teams can run multi-ECU setups on a laptop or in CI. Aleks is known in the developer community as an advocate for functional programming in automotive.

Aleks is a regular technical voice for RemotiveLabs. Automotive World magazine ran a six-page feature interview with him, and Forbes has interviewed him on moving development away from hardware constraints. He has also been quoted by Synopsys on Volvo Cars' digital twin work, and by Automotive World and HackerNoon on RemotiveTopology. He presented the RemotiveLabs CES 2025 demo, covering hybrid setups with NI and the ProtoPie integration.

Background and related experience

Before RemotiveLabs, Aleks was Expert System Architect at Volvo Cars. Earlier he worked as a senior consultant at Jayway and as a senior specialist in multimedia graphics at ST-Ericsson, and he freelanced as a senior software developer at æternity blockchain. His career has moved from embedded programming up the stack, with a strong interest in Elixir, Erlang and the Nerves project. He studied at the Faculty of Engineering at Lund University (LTH).
