Johan at RemotiveLabs
Vehicle software has to be tested together with everything around it, from embedded code to the services that connect it. Johan joined RemotiveLabs as a software engineer in November 2023 and works across the platform.
He also takes RemotiveLabs into new collaborations. At an AWS automotive workshop and hackathon in Santa Clara in 2026, he was part of the team that built “Tomo”, a virtual friend in the passenger seat, together with engineers from Siemens, Hitachi, HERE Technologies and Synopsys. The team applied V-model principles with spec-based development in a single day.
Background and related experience
Before RemotiveLabs, Johan was a software engineer at IKEA, where he played a key role in delivering DIRIGERA, the hub for the second generation of the IKEA Home smart system, working on embedded Linux for IoT products. Earlier he developed embedded Linux software at Sigma Connectivity Engineering.
Johan studied in the MSc programme in electrical engineering at the Faculty of Engineering at Lund University (LTH), specializing in software development, and wrote his master’s thesis at Axis Communications. During his final term he was also head of back-end at MEIQ Systems in Lund. You can find him on GitHub.
