Volvo Cars have been pioneers in using and providing feedback during the initial development of RemotiveLabs tool for virtual development of vehicle topologies. The tool enables developers to iterate and perform integration tests directly on their laptops. This left-shifting approach significantly reduces dependencies on costly and scarce/unavailable hardware.

We are thrilled to announce that RemotiveCloud now is part of Google Cloud Marketplace. This milestone not only cements our position as a key player in the automotive developer tools ecosystem but also a new era of convenience and efficiency for customers and partners.

The RemotiveBroker, the platform’s core component, now supports message authentication through SecOC along with E2E protection. SecOC data is automatically extracted to simplify configuration. The AUTOSAR SecOC protocol is designed to protect communication, within a vehicle, from cyber-attacks by providing integrity and authentication for messages.

There is a huge innovation potential for accessing vehicle signals beyond what is available in Android Automotive. A new approach incorporating gRPC and VISS together with RemotiveLabs technology was jointly discussed by representatives from the COVESA Alliance and Volvo Cars at a recent event in Gothenburg. This is also a way of supporting the upcoming EU rules regarding exposing vehicle data to 3rd parties.
